This exposition takes a closer look at a novel tendency in contemporary art. All over the world, artists go back to the use of classical shapes and translate traditional subjects and images to present day forms of art while using the most recent media. This new interest for the classical history may stem from a renewed taste for beauty, while, on the other hand, it re-interprets traditional images in a critical and ironical way.

This exhibition shows mainly paintings and sculptures but also installations, digital photography, video-installations and even virtual art. The 98 artists have been selected in, amongst others, Europe, the USA, Russia, South-America and China.
